Dreaming of the Himalayas and one day reaching Tibet I never thought I would be physically, mentally or spiritually prepared. And then, in so many ways, I found myself there.

This portfolio- “Dhondup” (wish-fulfillment in Tibetan)- represents the very earliest phase of exploring photography and seriously investigating a culture at risk of erasure. Truly feels like yesterday, but these images were all taken way back in 2001 while exploring inside historical Tibet.
